"Best FX" was given to THE QUICK AND THE UNDEAD for its creative uses of the makeup and effects to create a world set in the future, yet resembling more of a Clint Eastwood spaghetti western where bounty hunters track zombies instead of outlaws. This film was also made by Gerald Nott, a West Michigan native.

"Best Thrill" was given to the movie that most kept you on the edge of your seat, wondering what would happen next. THE SLAUGHTER is a fun, campy, horror romp meant to give the audience just as many laughs as thrills.

"Best Chill" was given to the film that made you sit in silence, holding your breath, your mouth hanging open, wanting to look away but not able to take your eyes off the screen. THE LOST definitely qualified and just a little warning, this film is not for the faint of heart.

"Best Short" went to the LISTENING DEAD, a film that must be experienced to understand. The cinematography is beautiful and the effects are creepy as the story is told as an old fashioned silent film, complete with title cards and all.

"Best Feature" went to ZOMBIE HONEYMOON, a deeply personal movie from writer/director Dave Gebroe. This isn't your average zombie film and will surprise you with a very moving story.
