Do I have to come in Black Tie?
No. You have at least two options: Ham it up or Glam it up! Come as your favorite movie star in character, put on the tux and/or the ball gown, rent some jewels and hire a bodyguard or dig out that chic pair of jeans with a rhinestone tee shirt. Be creative! Have fun!
Is this a benefit?
Yes. The monies raised for this event will help to fund the creation of The West Michigan Film Commission. The purpose of the film commission is to bring new film and video production projects to west Michigan from inside and outside the state. We want to see filmmaking and production work become a strong alternative to more traditional industries in Michigan.
Do I really need cash for the bar?
Since this is a benefit, we are asking you to pay for your drinks. You can use cash or checks to buy drink tickets to be used at the bar. Proper ID will be required in order to be served alcoholic beverages.
What is included in my celebrity ticket purchase?

You will receive one door prize ticket upon check in. The Wave Room is where to be scene for the scrumptious appetizers, cash bar, and the industry expo area. Play the Oscar® prediction game and see who in the audience is ahead in the game as updates flash on the Big Screen with every new award announced!
What is included if I purchase a Royalty ticket?
You are about to experience an evening of elegance, thrills and special pampering! First, prepare yourself to be adored by paparazzi anxious to preserve your every royal gesture as you step out onto the red carpet! Make your way along the Walkway of Fame, a parade of stars where you might actually see your own name! Next, pause in swanky VIP staging area for a very special Red Carpet interview to preserve your every golden syllable for posterity - sip a complimentary glass of champagne while you lavish praise on your fellow co-stars.
After wowing the paparazzi, you stroll to Theatre One -- no need to worry about getting a good seat for the Academy Awards® as your seat will be reserved all night: The best seats in town for the best OscarTM party in town - makes sense for someone of your celebrity stature!
You also get the edge on a few select door prizes reserved for your "Oscar® category." How do I prove if I am a student?
You must be enrolled full time at an accredited institution or at a recognized program (e.g. Compass Academy). A student ID must be provided at the registration table upon check in.
Will I receive tickets in the mail?
No. Check in at the registration table the night of the event. (The envelope, please!) Your required tickets, door prize tickets, etc. will be in an envelope under the name of the individual who registered online.
Do I have to work in Film to attend?
Absolutely NOT. This is the best time to come out and learn more about what goes on behind the scenes. Look for the special names tags that indicate industry professionals, chat them up and learn more about show business in west Michigan.
